Challenge:

• Conduct comprehensive interconnection studies for DER projects in compliance with ICC requirements.
• Evaluate the feasibility of interconnection and identify required grid infrastructure upgrades.

Action:

• Conducted pre-application studies and Level 1-4 technical reviews to assess the impact of DERs on the grid.
• Performed system impact assessments to identify required grid modifications and developed cost estimates for upgrades.
• Developed one-line diagrams and project diagrams to illustrate proposed system upgrades.
• Utilized Smartsheet/Excel for real-time collaboration and updates visible to all stakeholders.
• Implemented KPIs to measure communication effectiveness, including response times, meeting participation, and issue resolution.

DST Value Addition:

• DST provided data, maps, charts, and calculations in a format easily accessible by the client.
• DST successfully identified necessary grid upgrades and provided cost estimates for DER integration.
• Throughout the project, DST ensured smooth communication and documentation, meeting regulatory and technical requirements for DER interconnection.
